Alaska Airlines has announced an agreement with Qatari Airways to establish a codeshare agreement between the two carriers. Through this partnership, Alaska and Qatar Airways will allow passengers traveling between the two countries to book tickets on both airlines using the same frequent flyer program. Alaska and Qatar are the sixth and seventh largest airlines in the world, respectively.
In a new deal, Alaska Airlines will fly Qatar Airways passengers from Doha to Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau starting Wednesday, June 13, 2010, with flights scheduled to run daily. Alaska will also offer daily, year-round nonstop service from Anchorage to Doha. The agreement will begin with two aircraft, one a Boeing 777, the other a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The two carriers will have codeshare agreements on all Alaska flights. Alaska will also introduce new Qatar Airways-branded Lounges at their Anchorage and Los Angeles operations.

As Alaska Airlines expands its global reach with its oneworld alliance partners, we are proud to announce today the launch of a codeshare agreement with alliance member Qatar Airways. This further strengthens the partnership between the two airlines and provides travellers with interesting and convenient options.
Starting July 1, the agreement allows Qatar Airways passengers to easily book tickets and transfer on more than 150 routes in the Alaska network. On the West Coast, Qatar Airways offers twice daily non-stop flights from its main hub at Doha Airport to Los Angeles, one of Alaska’s top three destination cities, as well as daily flights to San Francisco and Seattle.

In the coming months, Alaska customers will be able to book Qatar Airways flights between the U.S. and Qatar, and then to their favorite destinations in Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.
