I get paid for the content and the many links on this blog. Citibank is an advertising partner of this site, as are American Express, Chase, Barclays and Capital One. All opinions in this article are my own and have not been reviewed, approved or endorsed by my advertisers. I’m not going to tell you about all the credit cards available, but I will tell you about miles, points and cashback (and the currencies that can be converted into them). The terms and conditions apply to the offers and benefits listed on this page.
American Express has just updated its public offers for both cards to make them more attractive and worth applying for. Enhanced offers for the Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® card and the Blue Cash Preferred® card from American Express.
- The Marriott Bonvoy Business™ American Express® card continues to offer 75,000 bonus points after $3,000 in eligible purchases during the first 3 months of membership and also reverts to $150 in bonus points for eligible purchases on the new card during the first 3 months of membership.
Members receive a free nightly bonus each year after their account anniversary and an additional free nightly bonus after spending $60,000 in purchases with your card during the calendar year. They can each be used for one night with a maximum redemption value of 35,000 points. (Resort or destination fees are not free in the Bonvoy program…).
Silver Elite status is attached to the card, with $35,000 of purchases in a calendar year earning Gold status. But the reason I have and keep this card is because the 15 annual elite nights are in addition to the elite nights on my personal card and count towards both lifetime elite status and current year status.
This is an annual fee of $125 (see Fees and Expenses).
- The American Express Blue Cash Preferred® card increased the initial bonus from $250 to $300 after spending $3,000 on purchases with the new card in the first 6 months.6% cashback at U.S. grocery stores on purchases up to $6,000 per year (1% thereafter); 6% cashback on certain U.S. streaming subscriptions; 3% cashback at U.S. gas stations and public transportation (including taxis/carpooling, parking, toll roads, trains, buses and more); 1% cashback on other purchases. Cashback is received in the form of reward dollars that can be exchanged for credits.
The card now has an annual initiation fee of $0 for the year, $95 thereafter (see Fees and Charges).
