The Chief Medical Officer of Anguilla has confirmed that since 15. No cases of COVID-19 have been reported until February 2021. In addition, no cases of dengue fever have been reported on the island of Anguilla since January 2020 and no cases of Zika virus since February 2017.
Prior to the KOVID-19 pandemic, there was a strong partnership between the Ministries of Tourism and Health; a key factor in our success in controlling the viral outbreaks that regularly occur in the Caribbean and Americas, the Anguilla Tourist Board said. Thanks to the island-wide spraying exercises of our vector controllers, our strict health and safety protocols and intensive public education programs, we manage to minimize each of these virus outbreaks, the press release said.

Experience Manager New Directions
Kenroy Herbert, Chairman of the Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB), has announced the promotion of Jameel Rochester to Director of Tourism Experience. In his new role, Mr Rochester will be responsible for working with the tourism industry to develop and manage the island’s tourism product, including all elements of Anguilla’s tourism product (accommodation, activities, services and attractions, entertainment, arts and nature activities).
Prior to his new position, Rochester worked as Deputy Director of Tourism in Anguilla. He joined the Board in February 2018 as Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, responsible for implementing marketing programs. He has been involved in the planning, organization and execution of introductory tours for travel authors, travel agents and visitors to the island and has also conducted a number of outreach programs on the island.
Mr Rochester will be responsible for the development and implementation of Anguilla’s development strategy, which includes both the leisure and business (MICE) sectors. It is also responsible for developing strategies to promote specific niche markets, such as sports tourism and cruise tourism, and manages relations between the public and private sectors.
