Belmond, the high-end travel company, has introduced three new experiences at European properties. At the Hotel De La Ville de Paris, travelers can now opt to be serenaded by the pianist in the hotel’s piano bar, while at the Hotel Splendid in Portofino, Italy, guests can take a cooking class at which they can learn to make authentic Italian cuisine. At Hotel Des Dames, in the French Alps, guests can now enjoy a nighttime skiing experience, complete with champagne and a chalet dinner.
Last week, Belmond, the hotel and travel company, announced that they would be adding new experiences to an array of their European properties. These new activities will range from artisanship classes to safari-themed dinners, and from farming experiences to yoga classes. While Belmond maintains that their new additions will not affect the “classic style of the train experience,” it remains to be seen how guests will react to the new features.

Europe is opening up again and travellers can take advantage of new and interesting offers. Belmond will present a range of new cultural, culinary and nature-related events at its European locations. Throughout the year, Belmond hotels, as well as the company’s trains and river cruises, will offer tours of the continent. Visitors to the Amalfi Coast can enjoy a three-day retreat at the Caruso, a Belmond Hotel, on the Amalfi Coast from October 14 to 17, 2021. The hotel collaborates with a local master jeweler to host a jewelry workshop where travelers learn about the techniques of ancient Rome and Greece. Guests also have exclusive access to the Oplontis archaeological site with a private tour of the gold jewellery collection. Another three-day retreat will be held from 28 to 31. October 2021 at the Splendido, a Belmond hotel, Portofino. The retreat program includes an introduction to the long history of the place, which is associated with jeans and dates back to the 15th century. The history of the ship dates back to the 19th century in the shipyards of Genoa. Guests are invited to visit the Museu Diocesano with a curator from the museum to see what is considered the ancestor of modern jeans, while designers will participate in a series of workshops at the hotel to create their own collection. Also in Italy, the Castello di Casole, a Belmond hotel in Tuscany, will host a three-day tour led by wine expert Tom Harrow. Highlights of the trip include special excursions to the wineries Tenuta Tignanello and Tenuta Guado al Tasso, where the most sought-after wines are tasted at the height of the Tuscan harvest season. In November, the Cipriani, a Belmond Hotel, Venice will receive from 11 to 14. November 2021, a three-day course on the ancient disciplines of the Silk Road.
