A cruise line that is on everyone’s list of favorite cruise lines is Royal Caribbean International. They have a wide variety of ship types and itineraries to choose from, which makes their ships stand out from the rest. However, the best features must include their beautiful and innovative themed areas, such as the Aquaspa, and the Explorer’s Lounge. While the Explorer’s Lounge is similar to other ships’ lounges, it is designed more to blend in with the design of the ship.
On October 7, Royal Caribbean announced that the Eastern Caribbean’s largest cruise line will extend its popular All-Bahamas itinerary through November. “Our new All-Bahamas itinerary is a great way to visit the Caribbean with a vacation that lasts for two weeks,” said Michael Bayley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. “The itinerary will give guests a chance to cruise in the Bahamas with the added convenience of being able to visit Nassau, Freeport, and Freeport with the port stays of either George Town or Grand Cayman.”

For the series of Bahamas cruises starting in July, Crystal Cruises has extended the schedule by three weeks, with the last departure now scheduled for the 7th. November is planned. In March, within 24 hours of reservations opening for luxury Bahamas voyages aboard the 1,064-passenger Crystal Serenity cruise ship, nearly 4,000 travelers booked staterooms or suites for at least one of the seven-night voyages, which depart Saturday from Nassau and Sunday from Bimini. Nassau, Bahamas This represents more than 25% of the total capacity of the ship during the voyage, during which the ship will carry no more than 900 passengers under the provisions of COVID. Eighty percent of Crystal Penthouses’ luxury penthouses with butler service were already fully booked on the first day of sale. Crystal Serenity has more public amenities per passenger than almost any other cruise ship at sea. Thirty percent of the accommodations are butlered rooms, and 80 percent have private porches. There are a dozen restaurants aboard the ship, including the only restaurant at sea owned by celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Harbour Island is excluded from thecourse due to objections from local residents.
Crystal also made significant changes to the itinerary for the entire series, replacing the planned stop in Harbour Island with a new anchorage in Spanish Wells. The change comes after considerable opposition from resort owners and landlords on Harbour Island, who said the arrival of hundreds of cruise ship passengers on land would disrupt the small island known as Nantucket Caribbean. Tony Sherman, owner of Coral Sands Resort on Harbor Island, is one of the most outspoken opponents of Serenity’s proposed closure. He says the change was a good decision. I think it will help take the clouds off what could be a dramatic change in the appeal of our destination, Sherman told Tribune Business in Nassau. Crystal guests are always welcome at Harbor Island. A river shuttle and optional golf cart tour are available during your stay at Spanish Wells. But Crystal says the remote island of Spanish Wells has a lot to offer, including pristine beaches, turquoise seas, spectacular snorkeling and diving. Guests can also take a kayak trip through the mangroves. Spanish Wells (Photo courtesy of Pixabay/lisabahamas).
Crystal will be the first major brand to come to The Bahamas
The Bahamas is a major cruise destination, welcoming 5.4 million cruise tourists in 2019. But Crystal’s first announcement was the first time a major cruise ship had docked its home port in an island nation. In the past, the larger ships called almost exclusively at Nassau and Freeport, while the Crystal series includes stops at many smaller ports, including Great Exuma, San Salvador, Long Island and now Spanish Wells. Jack Anderson, president and CEO of Crystal Interim, says this is part of the appeal of a destination that is both close to home and far from the world. These itineraries are truly unique in that they allow guests to experience exclusive destinations normally only accessible by seaplane or private yachts and sailboats, Anderson said in a statement. Eighty percent of surveyed guests want mandatory vaccination
All passengers on the Bahamas Crystal Series must be at least 18 years of age and must have been vaccinated at least two weeks prior to boarding. Travelers who are fully vaccinated will no longer need to be tested upon arrival in The Bahamas. At a virtual press conference to mark the launch of the first flights, Anderson said that a survey of former Crystal customers had found that 80 percent would not feel comfortable traveling without the requirement to be vaccinated, and that was the basis for our decision. Just over a week after Crystal’s Bahamas voyages began, Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas will also begin a series of cruises from Nassau. The seven-day trip includes two consecutive days on the private island of Perfect Day at Coco Cay, as well as stops in Freeport, Bahamas, and Cozumel, Mexico. The Carnival Fantasy arrived in the Bahamas in mid-August and has been running a series of four- and seven-day cruises ever since. Carnival is extending its stay in the Bahamas through Nov. 16, allowing for additional ports. The Fantasy will visit Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, and the Aquaview Islands on Oct. 25, followed by the Exumas (a string of islands in the Bahamas) on Nov. 1, and Freeport on Nov. 8..
