See you on the 28th. On April 20, 2021, American Express is offering a great, limited time offer on most Delta co-branded cards – up to 90,000 miles – that is one of the most attractive offers we’ve seen.
- With the Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express card, you earn 70,000 bonus miles after spending $2,000 on new purchases with the card in the first three months. There is no annual fee for the first year, $99 after that. (See allowances and expenses)
- With the Delta SkyMiles® Gold Business American Express card, you earn 70,000 bonus miles and a $50 credit after spending $2,000 on new purchases with the card during the first 3 months of validity. There is no annual fee for the first year, $99 after that. (See allowances and expenses)
- With the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express card, you earn 90,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 on new purchases with the card in the first three months. It’s a $250 annual subscription. (See allowances and expenses)
- With the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum Business American Express card, you earn 90,000 bonus miles and $100 credit after spending $3,000 on new purchases with the card during the first 3 months of validity. It’s a $250 annual subscription. (See allowances and expenses)

- With the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express card, you’ll earn 80,000 bonus miles, 20,000 Medallion® Qualifying Miles (MQMs) and a $200 credit after spending $5,000 on new purchases with the card in the first 3 months. It’s $550 a year. (See allowances and expenses)
The Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express card is a card that offers you a great start-up bonus in the first year if you don’t fly Delta often, but want to take advantage of certain benefits when you do.
If you travel with Delta, the initial offer of 90,000 miles on the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card is incredible because it allows you to earn Delta Elite status. And the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express card is perfect for that, as well as for lounge access – free access to Delta SkyClubs when you fly with Delta, and free access to Centurion Lounges when you book a Delta flight with the reservation card.
If you want to avoid having to add 5/24 for Chase card approval, American Express Business cards are perfect for that.
I generally prefer American AAdvantage miles to SkyMiles, and especially to transfer currency, but the offer of up to 90,000 miles on the new card is incredibly attractive.

frequently asked questions
How much are 80,000 Delta SkyMiles worth?
At 1.3 cents per mile, a premium for 80,000 miles one-way in business class from Los Angeles to Sydney costs ~$1,000, which is a huge value. Business class between the US and Europe on Virgin Atlantic costs ~$800. Of course, these are just two examples.
How do I get an Amex 100k offer?
American Express Platinum 100k or 125k Offer If you qualify, you only need to spend $5,000 in the first three months to earn the full 125,000 point bonus or the 100,000 point bonus. An extra minute to check that you have a pre-approved credit card means that you can get a higher bonus than the standard bonus.
How many are 10,000 Delta SkyMiles?
Based on our analysis, 10,000 Delta miles costs about $90.
