If you have been looking for a deal on a premium credit card, here’s one that you need to know about. The Emirates Credit Card has recently launched a 60,000 mile offer, which is more than double the usual 30,000 mile offer. This means you will get 60,000 miles when you make your first purchase with the card and another 30,000 miles if you spend 60,000 miles within the first two billing cycles.
If you are an Emirates Frequent Flyer and you have a credit card, then you might have seen an offer for a card that gives you 60,000 miles after your first purchase (that’s about $1,000 in travel value) and lets you spend those miles towards elite status. Many of you have asked for more details on this offer, so I’m going to let you in on the secret: this is not a general credit card offer. This is an offer for people with credit cards that let you book Emirates flights and lets you use miles towards elite status. If you don’t have a credit card that lets you do this, then unfortunately you won’t be able to take advantage of this offer.
Emiratescredit card offers 60,000 miles and cardholders can redeem forelite status
Gary Leff 16. June 2021 On 1. In June, Emirates announced that credit card spending will count toward Gulf Credit Card Elite status. This offer now also applies to the US market and is complemented by another bonus offer:
- Emirates Skywards Rewards World Elite Mastercard® 50,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 within the first 90 days of issuance
- Emirates Skywards Premium World Elite Mastercard® 60,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 within the first 90 days of enrollment
New and existing members will earn 1 Elite Mile for every 4 Emirates Skywards miles earned on these cards until 2021. In addition, double elite miles are awarded for tickets purchased before the 31st. July 2021 can be booked. All these elements combined make it easier to achieve elite status, which has now been extended to 2022. Barclays announced the Emirates credit card in the US just before the pandemic and launched the cards last fall. Both cards offer elite status at the beginning, and you can get that status by spending the card.
- The Emirates Skywards Rewards World Elite Mastercard® , with an annual fee of $99.00 , offers Silver status for one year, and if you spend $20,000 per year, you continue to earn Silver status. Silver passengers enjoy complimentary seat selection, priority check-in and boarding, and access to Dubai’s Business Class lounge.
- The Emirates Skywards Premium World Elite Mastercard® with an annual fee of $499 offers Gold status (50,000 mile level) for one year, and if you spend $40,000 per year, you continue to enjoy this status. Gold passengers can take their guest to any Emirates business lounge. The card includes Priority Pass Select (unlimited visits) and reimbursement of TSA PreCheck or Global Entry fees (up to $100, every 5 years – so you may have to wait until your benefits expire to reapply and receive credit).
Members’ miles do not expire. These cards are valuable for mileage retention and for those who value Emirates status. They don’t allow spending beyond elite status, as Emirates is a transfer partner with Chase, American Express and Citibank, and those issuers have cards where points accumulate faster and can be transferred to Skywards or other programs, or spent directly on travel and other things.
