We all love a good beach vacation, especially when it comes to summertime, but what about other beach options? Many of us have no idea how to find the best and easiest beaches for our family, friends, and ourselves. Many people have heard of the beach resorts in Mexico, but there are tons of other beautiful beaches located all across the world, in every corner of the globe.
If you’re looking for some great ways to spend your time in the sun, we’ve compiled a list of all the best things to do in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, Mexico to make every day count.
So what can travelers do aboard the Celebrity Millennium, which now offers flights to the Caribbean from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador? St. Maarten? If you go, what about entertainment? What shows and activities are offered on board? Panelist Susan G. Young, a travel writer, traveled on the Celebrity Millennium last week and interacted with guests attending numerous programs and entertainment shows. She quotes the reactions of two of them. She also gave an overview of what was going on on the ship during the day. (Photo courtesy of Celebrity Cruises)
If variety is the spice of life, you’ll find it on the Celebrity Millennium. The entertainment on board ranges from cabaret to Broadway, and the Motown music is great, says Michael Consoli, a travel consultant and franchisee Cruise Planners in Roswell, Georgia, who took my Caribbean cruise.
High-end producers and headliners
In particular, Mr. Consoli and Ms. Joelle Delva, Vice President of Operations for Dream Vacations, CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. (who also sailed on Celebrity Millennium last week) were absolutely delighted with the theatrical performances, especially the Uptown show. The Uptown production, staged at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the elegant Grand Theatre on decks 4 and 5 of the ship, is set against the backdrop of New York City, focuses on soul and rhythm and blues, and revolves around three young men about whom Consoli and Delva speak highly of. Uptown artists were excellent, Consoli says, and Delva loves fantastic harmonies. She describes Uptown as energetic, exciting and emotional and notes that the audience gave her a standing ovation. Other scheduled evening theater performances include Elysium, Touch of Shine and iBroadway, as well as – at least on our cruise – select performances by singer Savannah Smith and Las Vegas star and saxophonist Tommy Proulx, known for his instrumental pop, hip-hop and R&B compositions. The late night comedy in our cruise theater was performed by comedian Ralph Harris, a finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, who previously appeared on Celebrity Family Feud with Steve Harvey. Just keep in mind that the artists you’ll see on upcoming cruises will depend on the departure date.
The highlight for me was the fantastic lounge singers who performed at various locations, including the retreat lounge and the pool, Consoli said. He also enjoyed the Motown Party with the Millennium cast at the Sky Lounge. The music, of course, comes from the many lounges and other public areas. Some guests settle into comfy chairs and listen to Strings by the Sea with the duo Blackwood, others enjoy Coffee and Songs with Michael Redden, and still others relive their high school and college years with 90’s Melodies with Drake and Lara. Personally, I’m a huge Bob Marley fan (as is my 92-year-old mother!), so a good option for this musical interest is the Bob Marley Classic with Alks, which was offered at 3pm by the pool. The Celebrity Millennium’s entertainment team also has a Caribbean steel drum show (I have to admit, I can’t get enough of these sounds on a tropical cruise). Martini Vibes starts with a DJ in the Martini Bar on deck 4 at 5.30pm and night owls can dive into the 70s with DJ Miguel in the Sky Lounge from 10.45pm. And the list of musical possibilities doesn’t end there….. SEE ALSO: Photo tour on a cruise ship: Celebrity Millennium
Dance, dance, dance
In the morning, many cruise passengers head to Deck 12 for an active Fun & Fit dance class, and in the afternoon there is also a poolside Fun dance class, led by the cruise director or the events team. In addition, the line offers a solo ballroom dance class. As part of the Battle of the Generations, children accompany their parents to the Children’s Club [email protected] to participate in the game Parents vs: Just Dance. As for evening dancing, guests were treated to Dance the Night Away with the Lucky Band at 7:45 p.m. in the Grand Foyer, and another disco night with Magnifica took place at the same time in the same room. To me, however, nothing reflects more unbridled pleasure than when you show off your best dance moves in public while the people in the audience you’re doing it in are absolutely speechless and bursting into laughter. Such is the case with Celebrity’s Silent Disco Party, held in the Sky Lounge on deck 11. The passengers dance to pulsating music that only they can hear through headphones. Customers can choose from three music channels – 60’s and 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, and the best new music of the moment. Sky Lounge
Karaoke and songs
Yes, karaoke fans, you can choose your favorite song and perform, especially in the Sky Lounge. One night it was karaoke, the other night it was karaoke with a live Magnifica band. Teens can also grab a microphone and sing at Teens’ [email protected] : Karaoke program; it started at 22:00 in the X-Club on deck 11. One evening, at 10:15 p.m., the Sky Lounge Celebrity will also host an Abba-Mania Sing-Along Party, where guests can sing along to the lyrics and melodies of the Swedish band’s popular hits. Don’t you remember the words or don’t you know them? Don’t worry, they will be projected on the big screen in the hall.
On sea days, many guests enjoyed enriching Beyond the Podium presentations that varied from cruise to cruise. On our trip, it was Caribbean Explorers, Islands in the Sun: Barbados and St. Maarten St. Maarten and the great ships of the seven seas, presented by Eric Ball. During our cruise, CSI fans were treated to a lecture by Norma Hollender-Selico in the ship’s theater on real-life forensics; she presented topics such as the fascinating world of forensics, crime scene drawing, and CSI: Hollywood versus reality. She also talked about two high-profile criminal cases – Ted Bundy: Serial killers and the strange life and death of JohnBenet Ramsey. In general, enrichment workers vary in their backgrounds.
The fitness centre on deck 10 therefore hosted most of the fitness classes, such as 4D Workout of the Day, Ryde, or The Hiit (high intensity interval training) – the latter two with music and for an additional fee. Guests can also take a yoga class in the fitness center, learn more about back pain relief or get a free posture analysis. One program that many of us – myself included – could use is Secrets of a Flat Belly (especially after the week we spent aboard the Celebrity Millennium and enjoyed every moment of it). In addition to the gym, other fitness options include water aerobics in the pool or a game of hoops or football on the sports deck (deck 12).
Fun for young cruisers
The [email protected] site offers a wide range of supervised activities for children and teens, including chaperone-led activities, games and other entertainment, as well as family activities such as family bingo, a family photo scavenger hunt and family games on the Xbox ONE. On our cruise, there were eight children in the toddler rooms, so we were not allowed to see the rooms. But the supervisor [email protected] showed us two areas, including the teen club. Teens between the ages of 13 and 17 are less restricted in their access to the club and, according to the counselor, they simply enjoy hanging out, socializing with their peers, or playing music, games, or Xbox. However, events planned in the teen Celebrity Today programs include a ping pong tournament, karaoke, a FIFA tournament on Xbox One, Survivor and AEA challenges: Aircraft design competitions and more. Teens can also participate in special teen activities like Late Night Mingle or Teen Team Game Night Challenge.
Give free rein to your artistic flair
Do you want to learn something new or let your creativity run wild? I loved that the art classes, often held in the middle or beginning of the day, were as varied as watercolor painting, origami, adult coloring, scrapbooking, and making paracord bracelets. Artworks for sale are also on display in the ship’s art gallery on deck 4. Events include a reception honoring art collectors, Pop Art : The exhibition Romero Britto, the exhibition Picasso Museum and the exhibition Old and Modern Masters. There will also be the usual art auctions, including a champagne sale during the Rendezvous.
Games and miscellaneous
Cruisers can participate in everything from the Xbox Sports Challenge to the Pub Quiz with five different question sets, including a series of photos and the chance to become the Pub Quiz Champion. Other fun activities – Famous landmarks or world flags in the Sky Lounge. How about a bing bag, ping pong or golf match? Contests abound, from Motown Music Trivia to horseshoes to archery.
It is very interesting to taste different wines from different parts of the world. This allows cruisers to taste a selection of wines chosen by the cellar master. Please contact the sommelier for more information as there is a fee for this. During our cruise, Cellar Masters hosted wine tastings from Viva Italia, Tour de France and Two to Tango.
Guests could also learn something new at the tech tips, immerse themselves in a zen experience at an audio-guided meditation on the rooftop terrace, explore the area with a digital scavenger hunt, or soak up the enchanting scent of the day (Chanel Gabrielle) at the beauty salons on deck 5. In the afternoon, cruisers can enjoy an intimate afternoon of magic, as on our cruise with magician David Gatti, or head to the new Effy Hematian store on Deck 5 for complimentary champagne and a raffle prize. The Ladies Pamper Party in the Spa on Deck 10 offers a collagen skin treatment, treatment for puffy eyes, treatment for dark circles and more, with exclusive discounts for all attendees. Cruisers can also gather family or friends to create a portrait for life; visit the photo gallery on deck 4. On sea days or after leaving port (when the ship reaches international waters), the casino heats things up with promotions/events like Lucky Sevens Night. Don’t forget to play in the pool, take a dip in the hot tub, or take a walk up to the upper pool deck to sunbathe, which is also popular with many avid cruisers.
Films on the big screen
While it’s nice to be able to watch lots of free movies in the cabins and suites, nothing beats a good movie on the big screen. Celebrity Millennium guests can watch movies on the rooftop terrace on Deck 12 (during the day) or movies under the stars (after sunset). During our trip, movies like : Mulan, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, News of World, Fool’s Gold, Wonder Woman, Barb and Star go to Vista del Mar, Into the Blue, Boogie Wonderland, Mauretanian, etc. I still watch the events and entertainment on Celebrity Today, even now that I’ve left the ship for a few days. This is very unusual as most cruises were cancelled last year. I like to look at the programming options. From Consoli’s perspective, Celebrity has shown that cruising is making a comeback, as there are a variety of entertainment options for all tastes and ages. I couldn’t agree more. Susan Young. Frequently Asked Questions
What are the types of entertainment?
They call it the entertainment capital of the world, but which cities in Mexico have the most fun? What’s the best way to spend your time in Mexico City? How about in Cabo San Lucas? Traveling is one of the best ways to expand your horizons. It can provide you with a new perspective on life and the world around you. It can also be an experience that can provide you with a lot of entertainment and amusements. If you are traveling to new places or contemplating on a trip, it is good to know what type of entertainment is best for you.
What is considered entertainment?
There are many forms of entertainment. Some are popular, some are obscure, and some are downright bizarre. Here, we present the most popular, and the most bizarre. The best way to plan a vacation or a vacation to plan is to start with the destination. If you can’t picture yourself in a location, you won’t be able to experience it fully. A place becomes a destination when you decide you want to go and can picture yourself there. It is the same with entertainment. If you aren’t entertained or have fun, you won’t enjoy it, and you won’t want to return.
What is AP Entertainment?
I was in a local food court recently and came across the “incredibletraveling” blog. I have been reading it for a while now. I always enjoy reading their posts, and I have even responded from time to time with my own posts. This week, their newest post caught my attention. The post was entitled “How to Get the Most Out of Your Summer Vacation”. And while I am sure that you are able to get the most out of your summer vacation, I wanted to share with you how I got the most out of my recent trip to Italy. If you’re looking for a unique way to experience a destination, consider taking advantage of the many ways to combine the best of both worlds. For example, when traveling abroad, what better way to experience a city or region than by immersing yourself in local culture? If you are a nature enthusiast, consider taking a guided tour through a rainforest or other natural area. If you are a sports fan, consider taking a guided tour through a city’s sports stadiums or historical landmarks. If you are a history buff, consider taking a guided tour throughout a country’s capital.
