Norwegian announced today that it will be offering new cruises in 2017 with trips to Anchorage, San Diego, Panama City, Puerto Rico, and St. Petersburg.
Norwegian’s route changes and cancellations have been a hot topic…
It’s been a little more than a week since the first ever festival cruise was launched by Norwegian, but it’s safe to say that the cruise industry has been taken by storm. The first ever cruise, the Norwegian Escape, is a 13-day, 7-night cruise that departs from Miami on March 21, 2014 and stops in St. Thomas, San Juan, St. Maarten, and Nassau, Bahamas. Other than the first ever cruise, Norwegian has also scheduled a second cruise, a 13-day, 7-night cruise that departs from New York’s Pier 92 on May 29, 2014 and stops in Nassau, Bahamas and St. Maarten.. In addition, the company announced plans to build three more ships that will sail from Panama City, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. The cruise line also announced the cancellation of several trips, most of which were due to the need to prepare the ships to sail under the new protocols. 500 days later
When we welcome our guests aboard Norwegian Jade for the first time in July, it will be exactly 500 days since our ships last sailed, said Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line. I’m glad we can finally get back to doing what we love the most, and I’m very proud that we’re continuing to methodically reshape our fleet. He added that the company has always said that we would not rush to return to sea, but would return when we felt it was safe to do so while maintaining an unparalleled guest experience. So which ships leave from which ports… and where?

The full list of health and safety protocols that will apply during the swim has not yet been released, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has not yet authorized the swim. Moreover, if Norwegian Cruise Line plans to depart from Florida, it remains to be seen whether it can do so under the state’s current vaccination requirements. Although the cruise line has stated that it wants to require proof of vaccination, Florida recently passed a law that makes this practice illegal.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are Norwegian Cruises Cancelled?
I’m sure you’ve seen the news of Norwegian Cruise Lines canceling all its cruises for the rest of the year, including their popular ports of call like New York and Miami. This wasn’t due to them failing to compete, but rather due to Norwegian facing a huge loss in revenue caused by a recent financial scandal that has led to the cancelation of all future Norwegian cruises. Norwegian announced yesterday that their cruise ships would be returning to port tonight, after the company cancelled all 7 of their cruises earlier this week due to engine trouble. This is the second time in recent months that the Norwegian has been forced to cancel cruises due to issues with their engines.
Are Norwegian Cruises Cancelled for 2021?
Norwegian Cruise Line’s world cruise routes have been cancelled for the next two years, according to the Norwegian Breakaway. What happens if NCL cancels my cruise?
It’s been more than four months since Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) canceled its Grand Celebration Cruise, and the cruise lines have started back up for business. The Royal Caribbean and Carnival families have been hit especially hard, with the majority of their future itineraries being canceled for the remainder of the year. I’ve been a faithful nautical researcher for most of my life. My first cruise was when I was 16 and my first cruise post was when I was 20. Since then, I have made it a point to be a nautical researcher. I have unique insight into the cruise industry. I have traveled on over 180 cruises. I’ve tried to do everything “right” and I have also made my share of mistakes and mistakes that I simply believe could have been avoided.
