Today, this is a double-edged sword for Oceania Cruises. While the company has announced the first of two Allure-class ships, it has also announced the cancellation of other voyages. The cancellation comes as all of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ worldwide operations are canceling flights through the 30th. June 2021.
Opening of new cruise ship Vista
Oceania has named its newest ship Vista, a name synonymous with a company that has a bright future ahead of it. President and CEO Bob Binder says the newest ship will represent Oceania Cruises as a whole:
Oceania Cruises is an innovative and constantly evolving brand. We always look beyond the horizon, and Vista is our vision for the future.
Renowned Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri will build the Allura class ships, the first of which will be the Vista. The Vista can accommodate 1,200 guests and has a capacity of 67,000 gross tons. The Vista is therefore slightly heavier than the MS Riviera and MS Marina; at double occupancy the Vista carries 50 persons less.

The Vista will be the seventh ship in the line and will first set sail in 2023, while her sister ship will sail from 2025.
The Vista offers the finest cuisine at sea, highly personalized service with two staff members for every three guests, a warm and welcoming atmosphere thanks to the ship’s spectacular residential interior, and will introduce a number of distinctive brand innovations to the dining and guest experience.
The ship will have spectacular and glamorous public spaces, such as the Grand Dining Room, which rises nearly two decks into the air.

Other side
While it is gratifying to see the confidence that many cruise lines, including Oceania Cruises, have in the future, the current reality is somewhat different. Since the beginning of the year, Oceania Cruises has had to cancel more trips.
He said the cruise line will cancel even more voyages for a year, starting June 30. 2021, which is now the tentative date for the resumption of world cruises aboard Oceania ships.
The announcement comes after parent company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings announced further postponements for all its brands, including Norwegian Cruise Line and Regent Seven Seas.
With this new postponement, Oceania Cruises can hope that the vaccinations go smoothly and that cruises can actually resume by then; most guests will have been vaccinated by then.
All guests who have booked their cruise before the 30th day. June will receive a full refund if she paid the deposit or final payment by credit card, check or automatic transfer.

Oceania Cruises has had a busy few weeks lately. The line announced record sales at launch on 3. Mars has opened its tropical and exotic collection 2022-2023 to the public. These combined voyages were a record day for Oceania Cruises, with the most tickets booked on a single day in the company’s 18-year history.
