After nearly six years of absence from the cruiseship industry, Regent Seven Seas Cruises is set to return to the market with the launch of a new brand. The new name, the Seven Seas Cruises, is due to be unveiled on February 6, 2019, and will be used for the first time on the company’s flagship megayacht, the Seven Seas Navigator. The vessel, which will be delivered in May 2019, is said to carry an “exclusive” 7,000-guest capacity.
Just over a year ago, the cruise line and luxury vacation specialist turned to bankruptcy. Now, the company is back on track. Specifically, a new plan filed with the bankruptcy court called for a 70% reduction in debt and a reorganized business. The plan also called for the sale of the company’s hotel division.
The cruise line has announced it is winding down its operations and selling its assets. The company will stop sailing new ships in mid-April and is letting go its last employee in mid-May. When will Regent Seven Seas ships be back at sea?
The Regent Seven Seas plans to return to sea in stages. The first ship, Seven Seas Splendor, leaves the UK in September, and the last ship to set sail is Seven Seas Voyager on the 15th. February. The following are the detailed schedules for the restart of each vessel:
Seven Seas Splendor
Regent Seven Seas’ newest ship, Seven Seas Splendor, which launches in 2020, begins its first UK season on the 11th. September of this year. Departing from Southampton, England, the ship will tour the United Kingdom and make a stop in Ireland, with calls in Edinburgh, Kirkwall, Belfast, Dublin, Ireland; Liverpool, Waterford, Ireland and more.
Seven Seas Explorer
The return of the Seven Seas Explorer will take place on the 16th. October takes place. The ship will make two Mediterranean voyages from Venice, Italy, before heading to Miami for two planned Caribbean voyages. The ship will then depart for eight more voyages in the Caribbean.
Seven Seas Mariner
This will be the Seven Seas Mariner’s first dry dock before her departure on the 18th. The month of December will once again go as originally planned. It will sail from Miami to San Francisco, from where the ship will depart on January 5, 2022 for its popular trip around the world.
Seven Seas Navigator
The Seven Seas Navigator will be launched on the 6th. January 2022 from Miami, Florida. The ship will depart in 2022 for previously scheduled winter voyages to the southern Caribbean, including a number of round trips to Barbados.
Seven Seas Voyager
The last of Regent’s returning ships, the Seven Seas Voyager, will make five new trips to the Mediterranean, the first of which will take place on the 15th. February 2022 from Barcelona, Spain. The ship will be in service from 15 April 2022 to resume a regular service in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
