The day finally dawned on Royal Caribbean as the Odyssey of the Seas was delivered from the Meyer Werft shipyard. It is the 25th. ship of the fleet and is arriving late due to the global pandemic.
The handover ceremony will take place at 5 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast live on Facebook. Everyone can enjoy the festivities, including a blessing of the ship led by the Seamen’s House of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, a performance by the Two70 Signature Lounge aboard Quantum of the Seas, and speeches by the heads of Royal Caribbean in Florida and Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany.

When does the new ship set sail?
There are many expectations for Royal Caribbean’s new cruise ship, as it will be the first to sail from Israel starting in May 2021. The yacht will depart from Haifa and will offer a combination of itineraries from 3 to 7 nights until October.

The ports of call are Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos and Athens in Greece and Limassol in Cyprus. However, they only apply to fully vaccinated guests over the age of 18 and fully vaccinated crew members.
Odyssey of the Seas will sail from Israel to the United States at the end of her first season. The ship will make its U.S. debut in November 2021 from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The yacht will sail six- and eight-night itineraries in the Caribbean, with stops in Ariba, Curaçao and Royal Caribbean’s private island of CocoCay.
Odyssey of the Seas has a gross tonnage of 169,000 tons and is 347 meters long and 41 meters wide. It is the largest cruise ship to ever leave Israel, and the first of its kind to leave Fort Lauderdale.
