Southwest Airlines Boeing 737 for sale on Facebook
Gary Leff is 22 years old. February 2021.
The former Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300 is for sale on Facebook.
The aircraft was delivered to Southwest in October 1995 and is named after the airline’s senior vice president of maintenance, Jack Vidal. It was parked in September 2017. It is currently stored in Victorville, CA and can be yours for the asking price of $550,000. Just bring in the CFM56-3C1 motors.
Southwest Airlines almost became a DC-9 instead of a Boeing 737, and the company’s first major investor wanted to buy a Boeing 707,
but only if they could cut a hole in the top where they could put a clean plastic chamber under pressure. It would be large enough for at least two seats, which could be raised through an opening in a kind of elevator, so that the occupants could scan the sky from 40,000 feet.
If you’re interested in a classic Southwest Airlines Boeing 737, you can fly it – or turn it into an Airbnb, with or without a roof.
