When the world was on lockdown last year, and even now when most things are opening up again, we probably spent a lot of time at home doing things with our family.
One such activity may be playing board games, especially if you have family members who are particularly competitive or enjoy a challenge.
Until the cruise industry returns to the sea, we can at least experience life on a cruise by proxy, thanks to a brand new board game partnership: Carnival Cruise Line and Monopoly.

Cruise Line today announced the release of a version of the classic board game that people around the world seem to love or hate: the Monopoly Carnival Fun Edition.
All the features of the Fast Dealing Property Game are present in this nautical version, but with a unique touch that includes 28 popular features of the Carnival Cruise Line company. These include the brand new BOLT roller coaster making its Mardi Gras debut, Cherry on Top Ice Cream and Candy Story, Lido Market and JavaBlue Cafe, all of which will serve as landing points for players.

Each niche has a specific value, and players purchase these properties for cash, adorned with the iconic Cruise Line funnel. There are also announcements from the Cruise Director and funnel cards with challenges and clues for players, while in-game items include (of course) a cruise ship.

“Everyone has played Monopoly, and we are thrilled to create this unique version that features many of the most popular areas on board Carnival that our fans are sure to love,” said Andres Villalever, Retail Director of Carnival Cruise Line. “We are always looking for new ways to celebrate Carnival, so when the opportunity arose to collaborate on this custom Monopoly game, we jumped at the chance with both hands.”
